Hall House
Purchased
Several
parishioners felt strongly that we should buy the house for future expansion and to provide better visibility to our existing
building. Mike Bowland had concerns that we might need the Hall property to be
able to more efficiently hook on to the county sewer system someday when we decided to expand the church building. This would be a requirement in order to get a building permit. Mike
did considerable research with the Hamilton County Water and Waste Water Treatment Authority and got opinions from several
contractors. It was determined that we would save approximately $150,000 by owning
the Hall property because we could route our sewer line through the property rather than going around it. Without Mike’s intuitiveness we would not have known this until the time came to expand the church. The Hall property was purchased for $150,000, so in the long run the amount that we
will save paid for the house. The Vestry’s decision to purchase the property
was unanimous. The property is being paid for with donations of $20,000 from
parishioners, $30,000 from the building fund and a loan from the Diocese of $100,000.
The Vestry is currently looking into the possibility of renting the house to offset the cost of the loan payments to
Diocese.

BBQ Fellowship
I’m
sure they’re proud he’s carrying on the tradition here at St. Francis. A
record group of spectators and well wishers attended the all day Saturday event and the reward for being there was the famous
McCoy fish fry. John Rouser thought it was chicken, but don’t tell him.
The fellowship lasted until….. Ed’s pork and chicken pullers got
started Sunday morning at 9:30 after attending the
8 am service. Stacy and her crew got everything organized at All Saints Cabin and a great meal was
had by all. Thanks go out to everyone who worked to make this annual event possible
including all those who brought side dishes.

All
Saints Face Lift
As usual
when the vestry makes a decision they back it up and this was no exception. Stacy
Hall coordinated the project and contacted Judy Taylor to advise on interior decorating.
Shelia Crane donated a dishwasher, refrigerator, television, dining table and other furnishings. Mike Bowland and Bill Allen installed the dishwasher, refrigerator and reinforced the new kitchen island. Lenora Lee made two financial donations toward kitchen upgrades and furnishings. New
kitchen countertops were contracted out by Mike Bowland and installed along with a new kitchen island. Mike also installed
a new gas log and reshaped the back yard to divert water from the house. The kitchen cabinets were painted to lighten the
dark kitchen area. A cleaning and painting crew consisting of Stacy Hall, Dentzel
and Kathy Landstreet, Lynn Armstrong, Sheila Crane, Pat Allen, John and Gerry Rouser and Lenora Lee cleaned the entire cabin.
Thanks to the efforts of all these parishioners the cabin is now a warm and inviting place for everyone to enjoy.

Wine Tasting Big Success Saturday Night
Everyone
had a great time at the second wine tasting event Saturday night at All Saints Cabin. Doug and Ellen Hamm did a very
professional job telling us about all the wines and which foods paired best with each wine. Fantastic appetizers
were provided by everyone which included Hot Crab Dip, Smoked Salmon Nachos, Goat Cheese Pastry, Assorted Cheeses and Fruit,
Artichoke Crostino, Chicken Salad Sandwiches, Zucchini Muffins and much more than we could eat. Mark your calendar for
the next wine tasting on August 1st. Email Doug at dhamm72@yahoo.com or ask for more details. Don't miss it! You'll learn to appreciate different wines and
have a great time too. Go to the Small Groups page for pictures. click here Small Groups
